Step 1
Start by making the caramelised onions and jalapeño. Heat 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil in a pan over a medium-high heat, then add the sliced brown onions and jalapeño along with a pinch of salt. Fry for several minutes, stirring frequently so they soften evenly without burning. Once they begin to soften and take on colour, add 1 tbsp honey, ½ tsp sweet paprika and ½ tsp garlic granules, then reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking gently until everything is soft, sticky and caramelised. Set aside while you prepare the rest of the burgers.
